1+A+N Coach

Explanation of 1+A+N

1+A+N refers to the institutional coach model. In this model, educational institutions such as kindergartens and elementary schools, which have designated English teachers, act as the coach. The head of the institution is represented by "1," the institution's English teacher is "A," and "N" serves as an assistant to "A." This can include class teachers in kindergartens, ABCmouse-assigned teachers, and so on.

Depending on the specific circumstances of the institution, the following approaches can be taken:Collaborate with ABC Learning Center (Rhythmic students) and gradually introduce full-member accounts to create a unique English learning environment within the institution.Collaborate with after-school classes (Recitative students, Global-oriented students), where the institution's own English teacher serves as "A," and the institution collaborates with early childhood education centers or hires part-time teachers to offer interest-based classes (Recitative students , Global-oriented students). Both the assigned English teacher from the early childhood education center and the part-time English teacher from the institution are considered "A."

"N" can be a homeroom teacher or a class-assigned teacher and serves as an assistant to "A."

Note: For institution-based dadi-coach, the principal needs to communicate clearly with all "A" teachers, emphasizing that collaboration with ABCmouse is the institution's developmental direction and outlining corresponding incentive measures. The proactiveness of "A" teachers is crucial for the success of dadi-coach institutional collaborations. "A" teachers need to recruit three children aged 3-8, either from the institution, friends, or neighbors, to participate in a one-month coaching and training program for the English department, followed by ongoing support.

I. Roles of Kindergarten Teachers in the Coach Model:

1. Kindergarten teachers who serve as English teachers become the coach (A).

2. Kindergarten teachers who are not English teachers serve as assistants (N) to the coach (A) within the institution.

II. Roles of Kindergarten English Teachers in the Coach Model:

English teachers within kindergartens take on the role of coach (A) and act as guided reading teachers or institution-appointed teachers.

III.  Why Kindergarten Teachers are Suitable for the Role of Coach:

1. Dadi ABCmouse places a strong emphasis on guided learning rather than traditional teaching methods. The coach's ability to connect with children is crucial, and having strong interpersonal skills is a fundamental requirement for kindergarten teachers.

2. Kindergarten teachers have a deeper understanding of children and are better at building relationships with them, guiding them, and keeping their interest in learning.

3. When kindergarten teachers assume the role of coach, they can create a more English-friendly environment for children.

Kindergarten teachers serving as coaches make it easier for kindergartens to manage the program uniformly.
